Monica Vaghela, N.D.

Director of WHEN Health Area

Dr. Monica Vaghela has had a passion for natural healing for as long as she can remember. She was raised using natural remedies for the common cold, stomachaches, and other common illnesses. She grew up in the beautiful city of Charlotte, North Carolina where she began exploring a career in medicine. During her studies at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2007, she learned that many synthetic drugs have a similar chemical makeup of plants naturally occurring in our environment. This nuance led her to discover her career in natural medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, from where she graduated with her medical degree in 2011.

Dr. Vaghela approaches patient care by looking at the whole person and finding the root cause, using an integrative approach. She takes the time to listen to her patients and takes an extensive medical history with adequate testing per individual to provide the best possible care using various modalities, such as: acupuncture, homeopathy, IV nutrient therapies, ozone therapy, nutritional therapies, botanical medicine and bio-identical hormone therapies.

Patient education is very important to Dr. Vaghela, and she spends a great deal of time ensuring that the patient understands the reasoning behind the illness and provides the tools for the body’s innate healing ability. She also volunteers her time a few times a year to give educational talks for children at schools and at Sprouts Farmer’s Markets across the valley. Along with appearing on several news channels, giving nutritional tips for disease prevention and wellness, Dr. Vaghela was recognized in her field in “Natural Awakenings Phoenix Edition 2014 and 2015 Natural Choice Awards” and in the Arizona Health and Living Magazine as a leader in community outreach. She has also completed extensive training, following completion of her medical degree, and is certified in both IV nutrient therapy and non-invasive laser procedures.
